Privacy
Last updated: 4 August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected and how it is used across the three parts of Advanced Download Manager (“ADM”, “we”, “us”):
- this website, advanceddownloadmanager.net;
- the ADM browser add-on for Microsoft Edge and Mozilla Firefox;
- the ADM desktop application for Windows.
Our guiding principle is data minimization: ADM is a tool that runs on your own computer, and we collect as little as possible.
1. The website (advanceddownloadmanager.net)
Server logs
Like most websites, our server and our security/CDN provider (Cloudflare) automatically record standard technical information for each request — such as IP address, browser type, referring page, and timestamp — to keep the site secure and running. These logs are retained only briefly and are not used to identify individuals.
Cookies
The site uses only the essential cookies required for it to function (for example, WordPress session and security cookies). We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Contact
If you email us, we use your message and email address solely to reply to you.
2. The browser add-on (Edge & Firefox)
The add-on’s only job is to hand download links to the ADM desktop app. It requests two permissions:
- contextMenus — to add the “Download with ADM” option to your right-click menu.
- nativeMessaging — to communicate with the ADM desktop app running on your own computer.
When you choose “Download with ADM” (or “Download Video with ADM”), the add-on sends the URL of the item you clicked — or the current page’s URL for video capture — to the ADM desktop app through your browser’s built-in native messaging API.
🔒 The add-on does not read the content of the pages you visit, does not track your browsing history, and does not send any data to us or to any external server. The URL is delivered only to the ADM application on your own device. The add-on contains no analytics.
3. The desktop application (Windows)
Your downloads stay private
All downloading happens locally on your computer. ADM does not collect, store, or transmit the links you download, the files you download, or your download history. That information never leaves your device.
Anonymous usage statistics
To understand roughly how many people use ADM and which versions are in use, the app sends a small, anonymous “ping” no more than once per day. This ping contains only:
- a randomly generated install ID — a random identifier created on first run; it is not linked to your name, email, or any account;
- the app version;
- your operating system (for example, “Windows 11”);
- your language setting (for example, “en” or “tr”).
From the network request, a coarse country code (for example, “TR” or “US”) may be derived for aggregate statistics. We do not store your IP address, and we do not collect your name, email, downloaded URLs, or file names.
Update checks
The app periodically checks a version file on our server to let you know when a new version is available. This request does not include personal data.
4. How the information is used
- Website logs: to operate and secure the site.
- Anonymous ping: to count active installs, understand which versions are in use, and see rough geographic distribution — always in aggregate.
We do not build user profiles and we do not attempt to identify individuals.
5. Sharing and third parties
We do not sell your data and we do not share it with advertisers. Anonymous statistics are processed on our own infrastructure. Our website and API are served through Cloudflare, which processes requests as a security and content-delivery provider.
6. Data retention
Website server logs are kept only briefly for security. Anonymous usage records are retained in aggregate to observe trends over time; because they contain no personal data, they cannot be traced back to you.
7. Children’s privacy
ADM is a general-purpose utility, is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
